In case anybody has noticed, and I doubt anybody has, there aren’t a lot of regular articles being posted here. I’ve noticed, of course, several lawyer blawgs that are just prolific. I don’t know where they find the time. Law professors, maybe, but as a practicing attorney with a couple of other interests like making websites, I just don’t have time to be prolific with this blog. I’m mentioning this because it’s not my intention to disappoint or mislead anybody. An argument could be made that a person ought not to have a blog unless a person is going to blog, that is, post articles somewhat regularly, definitely more frequently than a blue moon. Then again, it’s a free internet and a person doesn’t have to write if a person doesn’t have the time.

Why do we need foreign oil?
One of my most long-standing and faithful clients has been in a life and death struggle with the EPA for over two years. This client is one that any oil and gas lawyer would be proud to include in his clientele. I certainly am. And, just to be clear, the pride I’m talking about isn’t a function of how much annual fees are generated by the account.
As most people know, I enjoy making websites as a hobby, and I’d like to invite everybody to visit Pryor Oil Company vs. EPA. I’m still working on it, but it’s shaping up.
Vindication
Back in August I wrote about A Really Brief Brief, in a case I appealed from the District Court of Douglas County, Kansas. The Court of Appeals handed down its opinion today. Ah, sweet vindication! I have to admit, the ruling by the district judge had me wondering at times whether I had lost my mind, and at other times whether there was any hope for the rule of law. Apparently, my mind is okay, and there is some hope. And yet, my clients have spent nearly $10,000.00 that they ought not have had to spend. Justice is available for a price, to those who are able to pay for it.
